Ski touring is about quality over quantity. No crowd, no lift queue, just you and the wilderness. It combines the healthy activity of hiking and the pleasure of skiing untracked powder.
Join our ski touring introduction course, learn the ropes and have a fantastic adventure!
After this two-day course, you will be able to use your equipment properly. You will know how to kick turn (Uphill skinning technique). You will be capable of assessing the terrain and safely lead the way. Along with tons of small but essential tips to make touring extremely fun and safe!

Can I do it?
You don’t need any previous experience with touring but you need to be confident skiing off-piste in all types of snow.
You need a good level of fitness. For example, you must be able to handle a few hours of hiking with 600 metres elevation gain (minimum) or to run an hour without being completely exhausted.
No need to be an Olympian, but during the course, we will be walking for a few hours each day.
A typical course program:
(The introduction course will take place in Chamonix. The exact area will be decided the day prior to the course depending on weather and snow conditions.)
Day 1: – 9 am – Le Brevent – a couple of warm-up runs to check everyone’s ability. Refresher on avalanche safety. Introduction to your equipment and start of the tour (2/3 hours hike). Picnic on the mountain. Practice of kick turns and terrain navigation.
Day 2: A full day itinerary experiencing one of the Aiguilles Rouges most iconic tours. You will put into practice what you’ve learned the previous day.
– 2 days of great guiding and teaching from one of our ski touring instructors.
– Avalanche safety equipment (transceiver, probe & shovel).
– Any transportation required during the course.
– Touring equipment.
– Off-piste insurance.
– Lift pass.
– Food and drinks. We will stop for a picnic, so bring your lunch!
