Magic Carpet / Bunny slope

Starting to get used to snow, basic movements, and lifts.

Key Skills:

  • Control speed, turn, and stop in a snowplough
  • Stand up on your own after a fall
  • Put on and take off skis or snowboard
  • Walk to and use the Magic Carpet independently

Next Level:

Novice

Development Tips:

  • • Focus on basic balance and snowplough technique
  • • Repeat short runs to gain confidence
  • • Practice getting on and off lifts safely

Green slopes

Starting to link snowplough turns and early parallel turns on easy slopes.

Key Skills:

  • Snowplough turns and beginning parallel skiing between turns
  • Maintain balance after small jumps, bumps, or on one ski
  • Ski uphill using sidestepping and herringbone techniques
  • Use all beginner lifts confidently
