What to expect during a private lesson?

A private lesson with us is always tailor-made. If you've chosen a morning session with pick-up, your instructor will meet you around 8:40am. Lessons start at 9am, right on the slopes. We take a few minutes to get to know you, assess your level and goals, then build the session around that: technical drills, clear guidance, exploring the terrain... The idea is to help you improve at your own pace, feel confident, and enjoy your time on the mountain without pressure.

How many days of lessons do I really need?

Accepted Answer

Beginner: usually 3 mornings to feel safe on green runs by yourself. Returning skier (haven't skied for years): a single lesson can be enough to unlock progress and rebuild confidence. Improving intermediate: 2 to 3 half days or 2 full days, ideally with the same instructor. Book your sessions well in advance: during school holidays we're often fully booked weeks ahead. It's better to plan 2 or 3 days upfront than hope to add a session once you're here.

Who can be in my private lesson? (group size, pricing, level)

Accepted Answer

Group size: 1 to 6 people, all from your own party. Pricing: 1 to 4 people = same lesson price (yours, alone or shared with your group). 5 or 6 people = +€15 per additional person. Solo skier: you book a private 1-on-1 lesson, at the same price as up to 4 people. We don't share lessons between strangers. A friend wants to join: yes, as long as they have the same skill level. If the total stays at 1–4 people, no extra cost. From 5 to 6, add €15/person. Same skill level: everyone in the group should share roughly the same level for the lesson to work. We can split the time between two levels, but we can't teach beginners and advanced together at once. One discipline at a time: ski OR snowboard, not both in the same lesson, since the instructor needs to demonstrate as well as explain.

Can I bring my children? At what age can they start?

Children can start skiing from 4 years old and snowboarding from 7 years old. For kids under 7, we recommend a separate lesson from the parents — the pace and teaching approach are very different. Older children can sometimes join their parents' lesson. We'll discuss this with you by email when you book to make sure the setup works before the lesson starts.

Question 6

Is the lift pass included in the lesson price?

Accepted Answer

No, the lift pass is not included. For beginners, a special beginner pass is available from €25. It is not available online and can only be purchased at the Savoy, Planpraz, Flégère, or La Vormaine desks.

Question 7

Is equipment provided with the lesson?

Accepted Answer

No, ski and snowboard equipment is not included. However, we recommend LocalChx, which offers free delivery to your accommodation and a discount for our students when you book through this link.

Question 8

Do you offer pick-up at accommodation?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for lessons starting at 9 am we can arrange pick-up directly from your accommodation at no extra cost. Please note that pick-up depends on the instructor's car capacity and cannot be guaranteed.

Question 9

Can I request a specific instructor (or the same one as last year)?

Accepted Answer

Yes, just mention their name when booking ("We'd like Theo again", "We had Pierre last March"). We keep a client history and try to match you with the same instructor whenever possible. If your instructor is unavailable on your dates, we'll suggest someone with a similar teaching style and brief them on your preferences.

I haven't skied in 10+ years, am I a complete beginner again?

Accepted Answer

Probably not. Muscle memory comes back faster than you'd think. We typically classify a returning skier as novice or intermediate, depending on what you remember. Tell us your last comfortable terrain (green / blue / red runs) when booking, and your instructor will calibrate from there. Day 1 is usually a "feel it again" session, and most students are surprised how quickly it comes back.
