Chamonix lift passes, explained

Three passes cover the valley and they are not interchangeable: pick wrong and you either overpay by hundreds of euros or find your dream excursion is not included. Here is how to pick right.

Season 2026/27 Verified July 2026 1,035 m → 3,842 m

Which pass is right for you?

Three questions, honest answer.

1. Where will you mostly ski?
2. Any of these on the wishlist?

Aiguille du Midi · Montenvers · a day in Courmayeur (Italy) · skiing both Chamonix AND Les Houches

3. Is anyone a complete beginner?

Good to know

Le Pass or Mont-Blanc Unlimited: which one?

Take Le Pass if you only ski Chamonix's valley areas. Take MBU if you want Les Houches, one Aiguille du Midi trip (worth €83 alone), the Montenvers, or an Italian day in Courmayeur. On 6 days the difference is €113: one big excursion covers it.

Are Chamonix lift passes cheaper online?

Yes. Dynamic pricing means day passes drop as low as €49 (vs €74 at the gate) on quiet dates booked ahead. Multi-day passes save ~10% booked 3+ days out, and autumn pre-sales cut season passes by hundreds of euros.

Do children ski free?

Under 5s: yes, everywhere (bring ID). Ages 5–14 pay the reduced rate (~15% off). Family "Tribu" packs (2 adults + 2 children) cut another 10–25% at Chamonix and Les Houches.
