Getting around the valley
Chamonix runs one of the best resort transport networks in the Alps: nine winter skibus lines, a scenic train, a free electric town shuttle and night buses. With the right card, almost all of it costs you nothing.
Who rides free
- Free with a valid lift pass (Le Pass, MBU, Les Houches) on all day lines
- Free with the Carte d'Hôte guest card, given by every accommodation on arrival
- Otherwise ~€2 per single trip, bought on board or via the app
- Since June 2025 you must validate your ticket or card at every boarding
Carte d'Hôte: the card that pays for itself
Every overnight guest in the valley gets a free Carte d'Hôte from their accommodation. It gives free valley buses, free Mont Blanc Express between Servoz and Vallorcine, plus discounts on pools and museums. Ask for it at check-in, you will use it every day.
Which line for which lifts
Buses run every 15 to 30 minutes at peak. The two express lines from Chamonix Sud (11 and 12) are the powder-morning secret.
