Getting around the valley
Chamonix runs one of the best resort transport networks in the Alps: three valley lines, nine winter skibuses, a scenic train and night buses. With a lift pass, almost all of it costs you nothing.

Which bus takes me skiing?
Pick where you sleep and where you ski. Times are from the winter 2025/26 guide; the 2026/27 guide follows the same pattern and lands mid-December.
Fares and who rides free
Three situations cover almost every skier. Whatever your ticket, validate it at every boarding.
You have a lift pass
Free on all day lines
Any Chamonix Le Pass, Mont Blanc Unlimited or Les Houches pass of 4 hours or more is also your bus ticket, 5:10 to 21:00. Scan it on the reader as you board.
- Not valid on Chamo'Nuit night buses
- Aiguille du Midi and Montenvers tickets do not count
- Ikon Pass: activate it at a lift office first
You have the Carte d'Hôte
€10 for 7 days of buses
The guest card from your accommodation no longer gives free buses, but it unlocks discounted passes: 2 days €5, 3 days €6, up to 7 days €10 and 14 days €20. Buy them in the Chamonix Mobilité app with your card number.

No pass, no card
€1.70 single, valid 1 hour
€1.70 in the app or at a terminal, €2.20 by contactless card on the reader, €2.70 in cash from the driver. Day ticket €5, three days €9, a week €19.

Since 3 June 2025, every boarding is validated
Pass or not, including on connections. The fine is €70 without a ticket and €10 for a ticket you forgot to validate. Inspectors do check on skibus mornings.Winter lines to the lifts
Valley lines 1 and 2 run all day, every 30 minutes. The skibuses run from 20 December until the ski areas close; the DIRECT ones only in the morning and late afternoon.

Train, night buses and the town shuttle
Mont Blanc Express train
Free between Servoz and Vallorcine with the Carte d'Hôte. Stops at Les Houches, Chamonix, Les Praz, Argentière and Montroc-Le Planet, ten minutes on foot from the Le Tour lifts. Half-hourly between Les Houches and Vallorcine in the morning and late afternoon.
Chamo'Nuit night buses
Three lines: N1 Les Houches to Argentière without booking, N3 Argentière to Vallorcine and N4 Les Houches to Servoz on reservation in the MyMobi app. €4.50 by card, €5 cash; lift passes and guest-card discounts are not valid.
Le Mulet, the town shuttle
Electric loop through the centre: Place du Triangle de l'Amitié, Grépon, Aiguille du Midi, Casino, Mummery, Vallot, sports centre, hospital. Same tickets and passes as the other lines.
Proxibus
Small on-demand buses for the hamlets off the main lines (Le Lavancher, Servoz, Les Bois). Book in the MyMobi app or by phone the day before.
